  • Hey, does anyone have any experience with using serato dj software with the Hercules 4MX controller? I am thinking of trying serato but want to know a couple of things first:

    1. Will I need to map my controller for serato, (I have no idea how to do this by the way)?
    2. Is serato dj compatible with the 4MX?
    3. Will there be a huge learning curve moving from VDJ to serato?

In addition to all that just a little background info on my experience….I have none! I am a new dj and am taking the quick dj course on DDJT (it’s pretty cool by the way), I don’t even have a DJ name yet! I am starting to get the hang of beat matching by ear and have forced myself to stay away from the sync button as much as I can I know, I know…practice). I am also thinking of upgrading to the Denon MC600NK2 controller, any advise on this would be great too.
Lastly, I am grateful for any experience you all could share with me.

    Thanks,

    Karlton

The cabinet brings you wonderful touch to guitar sounds.is a free acoustic guitar vst with natural sounds of acoustic guitar. Regardless of its being free, this acoustic guitar vst is comparable with those of the paid ones. It is easy to use in major daw like fl studio and the others. Guitar vst free download fl studio It is rich of ethnics music. It is incomplete to make digital music without electric guitar.

Wow, quite a few relatively BIG questions in one easy post LOL.

    1) Generally controllers that are supported by Serato (and usually come with the Intro version) will have a good mapping for all buttons, faders, jogs and switches. So no need to map anything. Serato does have midi mapping (or assign) functionality, but I have never used any of it. Serato comes with pretty good mappings for supported gear and I like my buttons to do what they say they do.

    2) While I don’t know for sure, I believe the Hercules 4MX is not Serato supported. Which pretty much means you are out of luck on that one.

    3) There will be a learning curve, but more of a getting used to. DJ software isn’t rocket science and the general features are there in most versions, just implemented differently. Specific features for each software need exploring, learning and practicing of course. At the end of the day it’s your workflow that should dictate what software will work best for you.
On thing that IS pretty significant is switching software in and of itself. If you have a decent collection all set up correctly in your DJ software, with start beats, beatgrids, cue points and loops and such, switching most often means you have to redo all that stuff. It’s why picking software that will most likely be the best for you so you don’t feel the need to switch in the future is important.

I am biased when it comes to the Denon MC6000 (had the original one for a few years since it came out). While I use a Pioneer DDJ-SX now (result of a gear swap), I am still eyeing the MC6000 mk2. Funds are short now, so not happening anytime soon, but high on the wish list. BUT, this is because I mainly do mobile DJ work and the MC6000 is singularly suited for the purpose. It comes at a cost though, it’s 19″ form factor does mean it’s more compact than most others and there is a boat load of stuff tucked into that relatively small space. Consequences are jogwheels that are a bit on the small size and a bit of a cramped feeling, which is particularly nasty when you do a lot of knob turning as some DJs do. Since I don’t (and most mobile DJs can’t be bothered either) this is not an issue for me.

Nope … at one time I had Traktor, Serato and Mixvibes Cross on my PC simultaneously. Not a problem.

Just asking, why do you want to leave VDJ. I play with a 4mmx controller as well, I don’t think I have any issues with the software. If nothing else, I would contact Hercules Support to find out what/which software is compatible with this controller…

Probably everything from VDJ and Mixvibes Cross to all the less known makes, with the exception of Traktor and Serato, would be my guess.

This may not be a problem for you now, but I too have a Console 4mx, I use the VDJle program that came with the controller,I don’t have a problem with this system, although my laptop is giving me some problems… :/ just practice and don’t be afraid of that SYNC button!!! I use the hell out of it and, if I have to, I adjust the BPMs to the original…they (the crowd) are drunk anyway and don’t notice the difference. It’s too bad that there aren’t very many videos on YouTube for this controller but, if you just practice it will come around. Take care my friend!!!

  • Filter: Hercules DJCONSOLE 4-Mx. Nowadays, more and more DJs are using VirtualDJ Pro Full to be able to use digital music instead of traditional vinyls or CDs. Still, using digital music doesn't mean you'll have to sit behind a computer and use a mouse and keyboard.
  • My DJ Console Rmx or DJ Console 4-Mx or DJ 4Set, which used to work in Mac OS 10.10 or earlier, is not detected on my MacBook with Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan) or 10.12 (Sierra). The Traktor Pro 2 software supports Hercules DJControl and DJConsole controllers using a MIDI mapping file with a TSI extension. The required TSI files.

If you have a DJ Console Mk4, DJ 4Set, DJ Console 4-Mx or DJConsole Rmx2 (except Premium TR), the VirtualDJ serial number is printed on the underside of your controller.
